RICHMOND HILL – South Effingham High runner Pricilla Cartwright took home the gold medal from the girls Region 3AAAAA cross country meet Thursday.
Cartwright took the lead early and effectively ran away from the field over the 3.1 mile course.
While Cartwright was winning individual gold the Richmond Hill High School boys and girls squads dominated the races for the team titles.
The Richmond Hill boys placed five runners in the top seven to make quick work of their race.
The Wildcat girls squad was almost as dominant with three of the top five runners being from Richmond Hill.
Cody Reid from Coffee County took the boys individual first place.
