Switcheroo
July 25: Officers stopped a vehicle that was pulled over on Carolina Avenue after the driver and a passenger swapped places. The driver was arrested for driving without a license and the passenger was arrested for allowing an unlicensed person to drive and no insurance.
July 26: An officer stopped a vehicle that was traveling in the middle turn lane on Fort Howard Road. The driver was cited for misuse of center turn lane, failure to update a driver’s license and obstruction.
July 26: A couple argued and he blocked her vehicle. He was given a trespass warning.
July 26: A woman who is getting a divorce argued with another woman and with her estranged husband’s mother.
July 26: A woman wants a protective order against her ex-boyfriend. She said he shows up at her house unexpectedly and calls and texts her.
Punches thrown
July 27: A man caught another man stealing lawn equipment from the back of his work truck while it was parked at Effingham Parc Apartments. He said the pair exchanged punches before the thief took off in a vehicle.
July 27: Four people stole a couch and some other items, valued at $175, from Manna House. They were caught on video.
July 29: Officers tracked down a stolen gun through a pawn ticket that was in the pocket of a man who ran from sheriff’s deputies the day before.
July 29: Officers investigated a man who apparently had mental problems and was trying to open a bank account at BB&T.
July 30: A man said a vehicle he bought off of craigslist, in Orlando, Fla., was stolen. He said he traded a car and $500 cash for the vehicle. Cottonwood Circle.
July 30: A woman said she left her iPhone at the Huddle House and when she went back for it, it was gone.
July 30: A woman said her former boyfriend wouldn’t let her have her belongings. She also said he threatened her.
July 30: Officers answered a call about a man in a vehicle in the Kroger parking lot lighting a pipe that’s used for marijuana. The man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug-related objects and a woman was arrested for possession of marijuana.
July 31: A bicycle valued at $120 was stolen from the front yard of a house on Hickory Road.
July 31: Officers did a welfare check on a family because a man reportedly threatened to kill them and himself. Everyone was fine.
July 31: An officer stopped a vehicle on W. Seventh Street for having a non-working brake light. The driver ran, going 75 mph, but eventually stopped on Stokes Avenue, where he was arrested. He was charged with fleeing to elude, failure to stop at a stop sign, brake lights required and reckless driving.
Cash stolen
July 31: A man said he left his wallet at the Texaco on Ga. 21. When he returned, he found the wallet but $350 in cash was missing. Officers were checking video from the store.
Aug. 1: A landlord said three tenants moved and left $4,000 worth of damage to a house on Rosalie Court.
