MATH AND SCIENCE A HIT
Effingham County Middle School held their annual Math and Science Night on May 5.
The event featured a wide variety of stations with hands-on science and math problems students worked to solve.
Stations also allowed students to perform experiments and watch the results.
A number of businesses and agencies provided displays, including Georgia-Pacific, Georgia Power, and the Department of Natural Resources.
Students created lava lamps, rode a hovercraft, made smoke cannons, searched for shark teeth and learned about the environment. They also used their math skills at estimation stations and counted tree rings to take a guess at the age. Students also saw a potato gun in action, and got to see a bee colony at work.
