
Malcum C. ‘Mack’ Edwards
Guyton- Malcum C. “Mack” Edwards, 71, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Mack was a native of Effingham County, was the owner and operator of Mack’s Service Station & Produce Market, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Edwards; two sons, Mike Edwards (Misty) of Guyton and Steve Edwards (Becky) of Mills River, N.C.; sister, Stella Evelyn Cook of Springfield; brother, Carel W. Edwards of Guyton; 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and special family friend, Charlie Morgan.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 27, in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in the Guyton Cemetery.

Connie Bevill Cathcart
Rincon – Connie Bevill Cathcart, 70, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Candler Hospital.
The Chatham County native was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Nita Bell Brown Bevill.
Survivors include her children, Donna (Troy) McCreery of Rincon and Terry Arnsdorff of Springfield and Bunnie Ferg; grandsons, Matthew and Stephen Arnsdorff, Chris, Brandon, and Kyle McCreery; great-granddaughter, Makenzie Arnsdorff; her twin sister, Bonnie Woodward of Pt. Wentworth; brothers, Danny Bevill of Stilson, Bobby Josey and Steve Bevill both of Atlanta; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held on Jan. 27 at Bonaventure Cemetery.
Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Alex Johnson
Conyers- Alex Johnson, 60, passed away in Gainesville, Ga., after a brief illness.
Alex was a 1972 graduate of Groves High School and attended Brewton Parker College. He attended Gateway Community Church and worked for NAPA auto parts in Conyers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Charles and Estelle Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanene Johnson; daughter, Brittany Johnson of Conyers; son, Ben Johnson (Julie) of Cumming, Ga.; brother, Charlie Johnson (Julienne) and nephew, Chaz Johnson all of Roswell, Ga.
Memorial services were held at Discover Point Church in Conyers on Jan. 24.
