From incident reports at the Rincon Police Department:

July 20: A couple argued over him coming home drunk, on E. Seventh Street. She said he tried to throw bleach on her but she blocked it, causing it to spill on his shirt. The man went to a hotel room for the night.

July 21: An officer sitting in the First Baptist Church parking lot watched a man across the street who he knew had been given notice 1.5 hours earlier for having a suspended license. When the man drove off in a pickup truck, the officer arrested him for driving with a suspended license. The man said he knew officers were in the area, but he hoped to take the back roads to drive out of town.

July 23: A man said he thought a vehicle was following him too closely on Ga. 21 and may have been “stalking” him. The driver of the other car said he was delivering a pizza for Papa John’s and just happened to be behind that car until he could turn on Oxford Circle.

July 24: An officer stopped a vehicle that came up as uninsured in the area of Fort Howard Road and Ga. 21. The driver was cited for driving in violation of a limited permit and no insurance. The car was towed.

July 25: A man called police to the parking lot behind Certus Bank, where his Freightliner was parked. He said a contract driver was supposed to use the truck to pick up a load, deliver it and pick up another load and bring it back to the yard.

Instead, when contacted by phone, the driver said he couldn’t hear and hung up. He refused to answer further calls. The GPS on the truck showed it went in and out of the port. The owner said that means the driver used the truck to work for another shipper. He wanted to pursue charges.

July 26: A resident of Plantation Way was cited for dog at large. He said his dog got out overnight during the lightning storm. An officer said the fence was standing open with a single piece of wire to secure it. A neighbor said the dog runs loose regularly, especially on Saturdays.

The owner was told his dogs could be confiscated by sheriff’s deputies.
