



Rusty and Lizzy are adult cats that are available for adoption at the Effingham County animal shelter.
Rusty is a male and Lizzy is a female. Hope Rescue will pay $30 toward the cost of spaying Lizzy and $20 toward the cost of neutering Rusty.
Butterbean, Bea and Jangles are dogs that are available for adoption.
Butterbean is a female German shepherd mix that is very happy and loving. Her owners turned her in because their landlord wouldn’t allow pets.
Bea and Jangles are female dogs that were turned in together at the shelter. Bea is a Dalmatian mix that is very sweet and loving. Jangles is a terrier mix that is happy and good-natured.
Hope Rescue will pay $30 toward Jangles being spayed.

Adoption fees are $30 for a dog, plus $15 for rabies shots; and $20 for a cat, plus $15 for rabies shots. Adopting families also must pledge to have the animal spayed or neutered within three months.
Nine animals were adopted during an adoption day event the shelter held in Savannah last weekend.
Upcoming adoption events include: an adoption day at Harvey’s in Springfield, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3; and an adoption day at Fleas R Us flea market, on Laurel Street in Springfield, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.
