Despite cold, rainy weather, about 350 people attended the fourth annual Taste of Effingham sponsored by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.
The event is held indoors, in the county recreation gym on Ga. 119 in Springfield. But with the high temperature of 45 degrees and rain, Rick Lott, executive director of the chamber, was concerned how many people would attend.
“What a wonderful crowd despite a rainy night,” he said.
More than a dozen restaurants prepared a variety of food, including German dishes and Caribbean cuisine.
Harry O’Donoghue and Carroll Brown entertained the crowd with Irish folk songs.
