The South Effingham girls basketball team rode a strong second half to a 46-31 win over host Monroe in a Class AAAA Elite Eight matchup Wednesday.
The Mustangs (27-4) outscored Monroe 29-14 after intermission to earn the victory. South Effingham will face Redan at West Georgia College in Carrollton at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Final Four.
Sophomore Shae Leverett had 10 points, 23 rebounds, nine blocks, five steals and two assists for the Mustangs. Machala Raymonville had 18 points, eight rebounds and three steals, while senior Tianna Germain added 12 points, six assists, four steals and three rebounds.
