The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is hunting for an armed robbery suspect who held two people at gunpoint at an apartment leasing office.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman David Ehsanipoor said deputies responded to the Quail Run Estates on Standard Lane shortly after noon today on an armed robbery report.
“A black male demanded items from an employee in the leasing office,” Ehsanipoor said. “He was brandishing a silver handgun.”
The suspect was wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt and blue ski mask. He took a purse and fled into a nearby wooded area.
Deputies have set up a search perimeter around the area of the apartments and Effingham Health System.
