Olde Effingham Day Festival will be held Saturday, April 16, at the Effingham Museum and Living History site in Springfield from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The site is located at the corner of Pine and Early streets, just across the street from the Effingham County Court House.
The bake sale will start early with goodies to eat now and take home for later.
Entertainment begins at 10 a.m. with singers and dancers until 5 p.m. The program will be announced later. There will be antique cars, tractors, fire engine, train, and Georgia National Guard vehicles on display. Call 754-2170 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for more information.
The food booth will feature their famous hash and rice until it is all gone. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks available to benefit Historic Effingham Society. Other food vendors will have their specialties.
New this year is the Art Show by the Springfield Elementary School and the Doll Show in the Derrick-Ford House. Other demonstrations will be held of old tools, corn shuck dolls, sawmill, old engines, chair caning, whiskey still, honey display and sales, and children’s activities.
The Camp Davis Sons of the Confederacy and Effingham Daughters of the Confederacy will participate.

• Our newest addition will be the replica of the Bethel one room school house.
The 1934 former Effingham County Jail, now housing the Effingham Museum with ten rooms of displays from pre-historic to 2060, including Revolutionary and Civil War relics, the USS Effingham display, and the jail upstairs, our research and genealogy library, will be open.
