Drivers should expect temporary lane closures at night on Ga. 21 in Rincon this week. Paving is being done to add turn lanes for the new Kroger marketplace.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) sent a notice to the City of Rincon saying work on the southbound lanes was set for Monday and Tuesday nights and work on the northbound lanes was set for Wednesday and Thursday nights.
The work will be done from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will be in the area between Seventh and Fourth streets.
But rain could delay the work and make it last longer than Thursday.
A new traffic signal also will be installed before the Kroger is scheduled to open in May.
The temporary lane closures may cause some delay for motorists, GDOT said.
