Springfield Police: Officers shut down drug dealers at fair

From incident reports at the Springfield Police Department:

Oct. 19: A man said he was held at gunpoint for 10 minutes by a man who wanted $40 from him. The victim said the incident happened two hours earlier, and he didn’t know exactly where it happened.

He also said the offender showed him the gun but never pointed it at him. He never followed up to complete a report.

Oct. 20: A vehicle parked at the fair was damaged by another vehicle.

Oct. 22: A woman saw another woman back into her vehicle at Family Dollar. The offender apologized but was adamant about not wanting the police called. The victim called police and the offender drove away.

My bike

Oct. 23: A Springfield man saw another man riding his bicycle so he followed the bike to a residence on Tunnel Road. The man on the bike said he found it a month earlier, in a ditch. But the owner said the bike was at his house the day before. He got his bike back.

Oct. 23: A drunken man was arrested for battery for hitting his wife.

Oct. 23: A vehicle was damaged when it was parked at the fair.

Oct. 23: A man said his former girlfriend has been using his credit card to play games online. The woman denied it.

Oct. 24: An officer using the automatic tag reader on Ga. 21 stopped an SUV that had suspended registration and no insurance. The vehicle was towed and the driver was cited.

Fair arrest 

Oct. 24: An off-duty officer noticed a drug deal being made at the county fair. He called on-duty officers, who arrested two Springfield men, ages 16 and 19, for possession of marijuana, prescription pills and firearms.
