
From incident reports at the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office:
Sept. 3: A deputy clocked a motorcycle going 94 mph on Midland Road in the Guyton area. The driver was arrested for driving without a license, speeding and warrants.
Sept. 7: A man said he was robbed at gunpoint on Oakton Drive in the Springfield area. He didn't report the robbery right away and didn't have a good reason.
Sept. 8: A couple argued over paying bills and infidelity. She agreed to go elsewhere for the night.
Ain't allowed
Sept. 9: A student at Effingham County High School was arrested and accused of smoking marijuana in the boys' bathroom. He was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects and possessing or distributing marijuana in a school.
Sept. 10: A woman said she believes her "on again-off again" boyfriend damaged her truck.
Sept. 10: A woman said when she was in the shower, her boyfriend looked at her cell phone and got mad about what he saw, which he took as evidence of her cheating. She said he shoved her and broke her tooth.
Sept. 10: Two mailboxes were damaged on Ga. 119 S. in the Guyton area.
Craigslist mechanic
Sept. 11: A resident of Deerfield Road E. in the Bloomingdale area paid a man he found on craigslist $200 to fix his vehicle. The man took the money, didn't fix the vehicle and stopped answering his phone.
Sept. 11: A woman said she was bitten by a miniature pinscher when she helped bring the dog in to be treated for a broken leg.
Sept. 11: A deputy stood by while a man collected his property from a residence on Bluff Drive in the Eden area.
Sept. 11: Deputies answered a call about a suspicious vehicle on Bluff Drive in the Eden area. A man hiding in a trailer was arrested on warrants from Chatham County.
Leash law
Sept. 11: A man complained that his neighbor pulled in front of his vehicle on Ga. 30 in the Guyton area, causing him to stop suddenly, to complain about the man's dog running at large. A deputy told the man about the county's leash law.
Sept. 11: A woman said her daughter bit her grandchild, saying she was trying to teach the child a lesson. She said she thought the bruise on the child was bad and she wanted it investigated.
Sept. 12: Someone pried open the front door of a residence on Dove Lane in the Springfield area and stole two bottles of liquor, $1,000 cash, a pistol and two cell phones.
Sept. 12: Someone cut the convertible top on a vehicle left for sale on Courthouse Road in the Guyton area.

Sept. 12: A woman said she has been giving her granddaughter 30-day notices but she won't leave. She was told of remedies available in Magistrate Court.
Sept. 12: A woman said a friend she has been letting stay with her had meth in her possession and she wanted her arrested. The friend was arrested and charged with drug possession and possession of drug-related objects. Ga. 119 S. in the Guyton area.
Sept. 13: A man said three firearms were stolen from a safe in his deceased son's room. Beaver Road in the Bloomingdale area.
Sept. 13: A wallet was stolen from a residence on Shae Lane in the Guyton area. There were no signs of forced entry.
Sept. 13: A deputy stopped a vehicle that was weaving on Courthouse Road Extension in the Guyton area. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license.
Dog fight
Sept. 13: A pit bull attacked a miniature Australian shepherd that was being walked on a leash on Whitehall Avenue in the Rincon area. The owner of the shepherd said he may have broken his hand beating off the pit bull. A woman trying to help the injured dog also was bitten.
