April 26: Two brothers fought on E. Fourth Street. One said he was angry because he came home and was locked out and found a friend in bed with their sister.
April 26: A woman asked an officer to call her daughter’s boyfriend’s father because the boy had called her daughter and caused her to have an anxiety attack. The offender agreed not to call again. Ash Street Extension.
Enough cookies
April 26: A manager at Burger King called police and said an employee refused to make cookies and was yelling. The employee said they had enough cookies and she was tired of the manager talking down to her.
The manager took out a criminal trespass warning against the employee, barring her from returning to the restaurant.
April 28: A woman said someone slashed her boyfriend’s truck tire and left a profane note. She suspects her ex-husband.
April 30: A $400 cell phone was stolen from a Pizza Hut deliveryman’s vehicle while he was inside the store. The driver’s door was unlocked because the lock is broken.
April 30: An apparently drunken man violated a temporary protective order, contacting a woman and saying he loves her and she can come home anytime.
May 2: A woman said she was afraid her drunken boyfriend was going to get in a vehicle and drive. He agreed to go to bed.
May 2: A man who came to a house on Ash Street Extension to watch a boxing match became mad at the outcome of the fight and punched a window with his fist.
Stolen gum
May 3: A woman who stole three packs of bubble gum, worth $4.60, from Parkers, was arrested for shoplifting. She stashed the gum in her bra and at first said she’d paid for it.
May 4: A resident of Ash Street Extension said a wheelchair transport service didn’t secure his wheelchair properly and drove recklessly, injuring his leg.
May 5: A woman said while she was serving jury duty, someone ran into her car and damaged it.
May 6: An officer answering a call about a domestic dispute stood by while the woman gathered her belongings.
Mercy killing
May 6: An officer responded to a call about a dog that was struck by a vehicle and left, badly injured, in front of Harvey’s. The officer took the animal to a wooded area and shot it.
May 8: Paul Lindsay said someone stole a sculpture valued at $250 from his store – Motique.
May 8: An officer stopped a vehicle for doing 41 mph in a 25 mph zone on Ash Street Extension. The driver, a woman from Guyton, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and speeding.
May 8: An automatic tag reader flagged a vehicle on Ga. 21 as having suspended registration. The vehicle was towed for having no insurance. The driver was given a warning for the registration.
Unruly son
May 8: A woman complained that her son was being unruly. When he failed to come home on time, she went looking for him and found him drunk. She said as she drove him home, he cursed at her, shook the seat and hung out the window yelling.
He said he was tired of her telling him what to do and hitting him. He was arrested for possession of alcohol and tobacco by a minor, but was released into her custody.
May 9: The tag reader said a vehicle on Ash Street Extension had suspended registration. The vehicle was towed for no insurance and the driver was given a warning about the registration.
May 10: An officer stopped a vehicle for driving 43 mph in a 30 mph zone on N. Laurel Street. The driver, from Girard, Ga., was arrested on a Screven County warrant and given a warning for speeding.
May 10: An officer stopped a vehicle on Ga. 21 for having one headlight. The driver was arrested for driving without a license and given a warning for the headlight.
May 10: A woman who was seven months pregnant argued with a man over money. She put his clothes outside and poured bleach on them. She was arrested for criminal trespass but was released because she was pregnant.
Wrong moves
May 11: A woman who was angry that a transport service was three hours late to take her to a doctor’s appointment told the van to leave and called 911 to take her to the hospital to get blood work done to send to her doctor.
At the hospital, she yelled, cursed and made obscene gestures and cut lines connecting her to a monitoring system. She said she had a grenade in her purse and “one wrong move” would cause it to detonate.
She was arrested for criminal damage to property.
May 11: An officer answered a call about threats on New Stillwell Road. One of the offenders was arrested on a warrant.
May 11: A man walking to an address on New Stillwell Road said another man told him to pull up his pants and followed him and cursed at him.
The other man said he was tired of people walking along the street at night. He said he thinks they are dealings drugs.
An officer told the man there’s nothing illegal about walking on the street and not to take matters into his own hands.
Teenage drama
May 12: A woman said her daughter’s friend is calling and texting her because the daughter took some of her belongings and she wants them back. The friend said she’s taken out felony charges against the daughter. An officer told the woman to “ignore the teenage drama.”
May 12: A woman said her ex-boyfriend was harassing her via Facebook and phone. She said he told her someone would “jump her” if she came near his house.
