Dorotea “Peepop” Rios
Guyton- Mrs. Dorotea “Peepop” Rios, 74, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015, at her residence.
Peepop was a lady loved by all and hated by none. Never a bridge burned, never a hurtful word said. She was the matriarch of the family, the one who united us no matter how far we had to travel. A woman who’s cooking was only surpassed by the love she gave to anyone she encountered. She was beautiful, in life and in death, a flower in a field of weeds wherever she went. She walked with grace and humility, empathy and love. She is not dead, she lives through all those who survive her, in our hearts. She left behind a family who will struggle without her, but will carry on with the impact she made in every life she encountered.
She leaves behind a trio of daughters; Edna Huyler and her husband Joseph, Dora Traynor-Coberly and her husband Mark Coberly, Carmen Albertson and her husband Regimental Command Sgt. Major Charles Albertson; her six hopeful grand-children, James Burkhalter, Sean Huyler, Tyler and Hannah Traynor, and Seth and Victor Albertson as well as troves of people she considered “familia.”
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 3 – 4 p.m. with memorial services to follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
