
From incident reports at the Rincon Police Department:
Jan. 24: A caller said the driver of a vehicle leaving Doodles Bar was very intoxicated. An officer found the vehicle, which was weaving on the road. The driver was arrested for drunken driving less safe and failure to maintain lane. Lexington Avenue.
Jan. 25: A fence was cut open again at Effingham Mini Storage, on Ga. 21. Nothing was missing.
Jan. 25: An officer answered a call about a man drinking in a truck in the Walmart parking lot. The man was cited for open container and advised to not drive home.
Jan. 26: A Guyton man said some teenagers used shopping carts to damage his car in the Walmart parking lot.
Jan. 26: A resident of Weisenbaker Road said she saw a man steal a $400 pressure washer from her residence.
Jan. 27: The mobile tag reader said a vehicle on Ga. 21 had suspended registration and no insurance. The owner was cited and the vehicle was towed.
Jan. 27: An officer stopped a car for going 63 mph in a 45 mph zone on Ga. 21. The driver lied about her name and date of birth. She was arrested for speeding, driving while unlicensed and obstruction.
Jan. 30: A woman said she and her boyfriend were being threatened that if they didn’t pay $350 for rent, they would be beaten. She said they were staying with a friend in the Springfield area and were not supposed to be paying any rent.
Jan. 30: The mobile license plate reader indicated that a vehicle on Ga. 21 had suspended registration. The vehicle was towed and the owner was cited for no insurance and suspended registration.
Baby break
Jan. 31: An officer stopped a vehicle on Shaw Street because the mobile tag reader said it had suspended registration. The driver also had a suspended license. An officer said the only reason the woman wasn’t going to jail was because she had her baby in the vehicle. She was cited and the vehicle was towed.
Feb. 1: A woman and her son argued with the woman’s boyfriend over a tire being deflated. Town Park Drive.
Feb. 1: A resident of Walter Samuels Road said he believes his truck suffered severe damage when it was parked at Alibi’s Bar and Grill. The windshield and headlights were broken. No broken glass could be found at the business. Workers at the business said there was no disturbance that night and they didn’t remember seeing the man.
