Claire Elaine Fort

Guyton — Claire Elaine Fort was born on Thursday, July 31, 2014, to parents Weston and Candace Fort at Candler Hospital.

Claire’s family was blessed to spend five weeks with Claire, before she took on her heavenly wings from Memorial Hospital on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014.

Claire is deeply loved and missed by her mommy and daddy; paternal grandparents, Gary and Terri Fort of Guyton; maternal grandparents, Monica Collins of Guyton and Jonathan Borders of Rincon; maternal great-grandparents, Timothy and Rose Mary Doyle of Guyton; maternal great-great grandmother, Annie May Morris of Guyton; aunts and uncles, Justin Fort, Ashley Fort, Brandi Fort, Taylor Borders and Justin Borders.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in the Foy Cemetery (Elam Egypt Cemetery).

Joyce Marlene Bilinsky Bell

Springfield – Joyce Marlene Bilinsky Bell, 70, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014

Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late Louise M. Couch and John Bilinsky, she graduated from Martins Ferry High School in 1961. She was raised Catholic and later was baptized and joined First Baptist Church of Springfield. She retired from Effingham County Board of Education after many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Bilinsky.

Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Bell whom she married June 21, 1963; sons, Ricky A. (Kim) Bell, Jeffery A. (Norma) Bell, Darrell A. (Georgia) Bell; grandchildren, Christopher Bell, Branden Bell, Kisha Bell, Joshua Bell, Tiffany Bell, Linda Rowe, Allison Rowe, and Bryce Beasley; great-grandchildren, Chrislynn, Macie, Caelyn, Riley, and Charlie; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Brewer, Carol Popp (Joe), Rose Fetty, Patricia Morehead (Chuck); and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.

Remembrances may be given to American Heart Association, www.heart.org or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org.

Alfreda Bland Coleman

Rincon – Alfreda Bland Coleman, 83, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Coleman was a member of Rincon Baptist Temple and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Coleman.

Survivors include her daughters, Paula Coleman of Lyons and Donna Teears of Rincon; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Delores Malone of Springfield; half-brother, Paul Bland of Springfield; and two nephews.

The family will be having no services.

Earl Edwards

Rincon-Mr. Earl Edwards, 62, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at Hospice Savannah.

Mr. Edwards was born in Savannah, but lived in Effingham County for many years.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic and attended the Kingdom Hall.

Mr. Earl was preceded in death by his father, Walter V. Edwards and son, Chad Edwards.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Edwards of Rincon; mother, Lorraine Edwards of Clyo; three stepsons, David Strid, C.T. Parnell and Zachary Porter all of Rincon; daughters, Stacey Allen of Rincon, and Stephanie Gallagher of Oregon; stepdaughter, Renee Strid of California; four brothers; Wayne Edwards of Clyo, Randall Edwards of Rincon, Rodger Edwards of Clyo and Keith Edwards of Clyo; one sister, Joletta Phillips of Springfield; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held on Friday, Sept. 5, in the Edwards-Butler Cemetery.

Memorials maybe made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, Ga. 31416, or to the Anderson Cancer Center 4700 Waters Ave. Savannah, Ga. 31404.
