From incident reports at the Rincon Police Department:
Aug. 12: A man cut the locks off of two storage units at Moore Storage, on Willowpeg Way, and took some belongings from them. He left through a hole in the fence.
Aug. 26: An officer who was running radar on the north side of the viaduct on Ga. 21 stopped a car for doing 52 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver was arrested for having a suspended license.
Aug. 26: A resident of Stonewall Drive said his ex-girlfriend sent him a text saying she was outside his house and could see a woman with him. She also said she was going to kill herself.
An officer visited the ex-girlfriend, who lives a block away. She said she didn’t want to hurt herself and was only trying to make her former boyfriend angry. She was issued a trespass warning.
Aug. 27: A resident of Winfield Drive said a dog ran from a house on Town Park Drive E. and attacked her dog, as she was walking it on a leash. She said it’s the second time it’s happened. The homeowner said his dog got loose accidentally and he would pay for her dog’s injuries to be treated.
Aug. 27: A resident of Oxford Circle said she thought someone had been in her house because the rear door was open when she returned home. The lock on the door was faulty. There were no signs of forced entry or damage to property.
Aug. 29: A 28-year-old Guyton man was arrested for trying to steal $43 worth of jewelry from Walmart. He was caught by a loss prevention officer working for the store.
Aug. 30: A woman said when she was driving on Lisa Street, she had to stop her vehicle to move shopping carts that were in the road. While she was stopped, a 12-year-old boy threw rocks at the front of her vehicle, damaging the windshield and hood.
An officer didn’t find the boy, but said three males ran from him at the nearby Georgian Apartments.
Aug. 30: An officer stopped a car on Ga. 21 because its tag lights and one tail light were not working. The driver was given a written warning for the violations. His passenger was arrested for possession of synthetic narcotics.
Aug. 30. A sheriff’s deputy pulled over a vehicle that sat through an entire red light sequence without moving, headed northbound on Ga. 21 at Town Park Drive. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance – prescription pills.
