Bond was set today at $38,000 for a felon accused of shooting at an Effingham County deputy on Sunday.

Magistrate Scott Hinson set the bond for Eric Ramon Harrison, 41, of Eden.

Harrison was charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, reckless conduct and battery, family violence act, according to Sheriff’s spokesman David Ehsanipoor.

Deputies responded to a house on Raccoon Drive in the Foxbow Farms neighborhood about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday regarding a report of a domestic disturbance involving a man with a gun.

“When sheriff’s deputies were on scene trying to get the suspect out of the residence, the suspect walked outside and fired at least one shot at a deputy,” Ehsanipoor said. “The suspect retreated back into the residence before deputies were able to return fire.”

Harrison surrendered after a brief standoff with deputies.
