Happy New Year. Welcome 2013. No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending. How we end this year, 2013, will be determined by how we start it.
Do you want a new ending this year? This could be the best New Year of your life. Your life can be filled with hope and peace. Resolutions are not only about saying I will do this and I won’t do that. Resolutions should include asking the Lord into each day.
God invites us to forget about all the distrust and fears, all the anxieties of the past, all the resentments, all the criticisms; to put them away and begin again.
Be thankful that God is able to make something good out of our mistakes and bad experiences. God gives the gift of new beginnings. Afresh, we can enjoy the gift of forgiveness and of a relationship with Christ.
When we ask God to forgive the bad days of our past, He is faithful to forgive us. He can help us with every new day. His love is always the same. Ask God to use you to help others and to please Him. That is the best way to start a new year.
He can take a heart that has failed and turn it into a heart that is whole, and purposeful. God wants to see you at peace. A clean slate and a fresh heart comes when we remember the Psalm ‘Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.’
May 2013 be a year in which life will be characterized by peace, sweetness, and beauty. We can begin again right where we are, making things better.
Thank you Lord for a time in which we can lay aside unpleasant characteristics. We depend on You for wisdom, strength, and guidance.
The choice before us. How are we going to live in this new year?
