RICHMOND HILL - Effingham County’s MaKayla Robinson hit a running shot from the paint with just under 6 seconds to go to give the Lady Rebels a 35-33 over Richmond Hill in the semi-finals of the Region 3 AAAAA tournament Thursday afternoon.
The Rebels, the tourney’s top seed, led by five points with three minutes left but Richmond Hill tied the game at 31 each when Ciara Patrick knocked down a two-point basket seconds after Hannah Riley had nailed a three-point shot.
Effingham took the lead again only to see the Wildcat’s Khadijah Scriven tie things up again with 11 seconds left, setting the stage for Robinson’s game winning shot.
