Live Oak Public Libraries are now closed and will be closed Wednesday.
Chatham County Government offices will be closed Wednesday. Employees that are not directly supporting snow and ice response are directed to stay at home. We anticipate that offices will reopen on Thursday for normal business operations.
All non-essential city of Savannah services, including sanitation pick-up, will be suspended on Wednesday.
City offices and programs will be closed to the public on Wednesday. Police and fire emergency services will remain operational. Residents can report non-life threatening issues to the city, such as fallen tree limbs and icy spots, by calling 311. If a resident witnesses a situation that poses a threat to life safety, such as a downed power line, they should immediately call 911 and avoid the area.
The city has prepared trucks to dispense sand should we experience ice on the roads. Crews will remain on duty to clear fallen tree limbs and debris, and maintain overall regular operations of City infrastructure. Conditions can still be extremely hazardous on the roadways.
The Coastal Bank is closing at 3 p.m. Tuesday. No decision on being open or not Wednesday has been made.
Flights cancelled
Flights into and out of Savannah International Airport are expected to grind to a halt by about 4 p.m. Tuesday as departure and arrival boards show nothing but cancellations beyond that point. The Savannah Airport Commission is monitoring the situation and will be in constant touch with the airlines, the FAA and the TSA to update the storm’s impact on flight schedules through Wednesday. Passengers should monitor the status of their flights by logging onto the airline websites or by contacting the airlines directly to reschedule.

Due to a forecasted mix of freezing rain and sleet in the Savannah area for Wednesday, GPA’s Garden City Terminal and the container gates at Ocean Terminal will be closed all day to commercial truck traffic. Ocean Terminal anticipates being closed for truck traffic through 1 p.m. Wednesday. Pending weather conditions, Ocean terminal will be available for truck loading and unloading by 1 p.m., potentially earlier. Information will be updated as it becomes available Wednesday. All terminal gate and field activity will resume on Thursday, with container gates at Garden City Terminal re-opening at 6 a.m.
Due to potentially dangerous weather, some St. Joseph’s/Candler offices and programs will be closing today through Wednesday.
St. Joseph’s Hospital and Candler Hospital and their Emergency Departments will remain open.
· Medical Group Management offices will be closed Wednesday.
· Most offices at the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion will be closed. Radiation oncology patients will be rescheduled for Saturday.

The Chatham County Sheriff’s Department will be cancelling inmate visitation for Wednesday. Visitation will also be cancelled starting Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Chatham County Sheriff’s Department regrets any problems this may cause families of inmates housed in our facility. Due to the possibility of dangerous winter weather, all public health facilities in Bryan and Effingham counties will close at 3 p.m. Tuesday, and all public health facilities in Camden, Chatham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh counties will close at 4 p.m. Tuesday. The city of Port Wentworth will be closing all offices at 3 p.m. Tuesday and they will remain closed until Thursday due to the Weather Advisory. Emergency services will continue to function as normal. The Port Wentworth Department of Public Safety urges everyone to travel the roads only when absolutely necessary until the conditions improve.
The Savannah VOICE Festival’s “Homeage to Verdi” performance set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Mickve Israel has been postponed until March.
Savannah Country Day School has cancelled school and all extracurricular activities and practices for Wednesday.

In anticipation of inclement weather to Savannah and surrounding areas, Senior Citizens, Inc. will close its Meals on Wheels kitchen, Adult Daytime Care Centers, Neighborhood Centers (Thunderbolt, Pt. Wentworth, Liberty County, McIntosh County), and The Learning Center programs on Wednesday, January 29.
Senior Citizens, Inc. is taking proactive measures by delivering a hot lunch and a frozen meal to all Meals on Wheels clients today so that they will have a meal on Wednesday. Services are anticipated to resume on Thursday.

Due to the anticipated weather conditions, all Savannah Technical College campuses will close at 1:00 p.m. today and all day Wednesday. The college will reopen Thursday, January 30th for normal operations barring any unforeseen power or travel issues.

The Savannah-Chatham school system’s Teacher of the Year ceremony set for Tuesday night at the Westin Savannah Harbor has been postponed until Feb. 4 due to the threat of severe winter weather.
All schools within the Savannah-Chatham County public school system will remain open Tuesday on their regular operational schedule.
However, all after-school activities planned for Tuesday will be cancelled. Additionally, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s Pryme Tyme after-school program and the 2:30pm classes associated with Ombudsman Educational Services will be cancelled.
The school system is monitoring the weather situation very closely. Updates will be provided should additional disruptions to the operational schedule occur, said Kurt Hetager, schools spokesman.
